Nico Russo is a Product Manager for Grupo Octubre, where he founded and lead the digital newsroom for the news channel called IP in 2020. A year later he did the same for Channel 9´s Telenueve, a +60-year-old news broadcast. He became PM after more than 15 years as a filmmaker/video editor working in different newsrooms and digital agencies. In 2018 he was awarded a grant by the ICFJ for his work on media innovation. 

In 2021 he was awarded the Google News Initiative Innovation Challenge Grant for “Vision Latina” a project about making smarter the footage and photos from the newsrooms. 

In 2022, he was a mentor in Facebook´s program for Local Media and he is a current fellow at “Ai Journalism program”  from Polis, London School of Economics
