I founded and run the mobile engagement platform GroundSource, and am a long-time pioneer in using technology to help newsrooms more effectively engage their audiences, and make their journalism more reflective of and responsive to the communities they serve. Prior to starting GroundSource, I co-founded the Public Insight Network and developed numerous pioneering interactive news experiences at American Public Media; worked a business and economics reporter at Minnesota Public Radio; served as Midwestern correspondent for The Economist; was a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University, and a RJI Fellow at the University of Missouri, focusing on leading change and innovation in journalism.
